and so the writer shares his triumphant 18 with a meaningful lesson in life:
"Take heed that you do not do your charitable deeds before men, to be seen by them. Otherwise you have no reward from your Father in heaven. Therefore, when you do a charitable deed, do not sound like a trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory from men. Assuredly I say to you, they have their reward.
But when you do a charitable deed, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, that your charitable deed may be in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will Himself reward you openly."
human beings are interesting creatures endowed with egotism, vainglory and pride. truely, it is a mammoth task to overcome second nature, but hey its worth a try. and i guess its quite cool actually helping/touching/saving lives without them even realising it. kinda like a 007 espionage mission to assist and rescue others from the shadows and synchronously restore our humanity that has long buried itself within the deepest recesses of our hearts.
of course, this is not an ethically egoistic post where we work for the sake of this "reward". most assuredly He says to you: seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you. sounds simple right? well i guess thats what life is for...
for us to find out.
