"There are many ways to define our fragile existence; many ways to give it meaning. But it is our memories that shape its purpose and give it context.
The private assortment of images: fears, loves, regrets… for it’s the cruel irony of life that we are destined to hold the dark with the light, the good with the evil, success with disappointment… this is what separates us, what makes us human."
Dr Mohinder Suresh, Geneticist/Anthropologist
Memories define us. They make us who we are today. They are what we have gained and accumulated through our walk in life. Yet, the greatest irony is that you can never control them. Restrict maybe? But never master.
Many things you try to remember, but forget.
Many things you try to forget, but remember.
The good, the bad, the ugly; all are but chemical signals retained and released by neurons within your cerebral hemispheres.
What controls the actions of these neurons then? Nope, not you.
Subconscious, some might say. Whos that?
Some have unpleasant memories, or scars some might say. Tragedies, shame, rage, wrong moves. All affects us one way or another, in the negative sense of course. We try hard, but still remember.
Some have pleasant memories, or marks some might say. Joy, laughter, loves, right moves. All affects us one way or another, in the positive sense of course. We try hard, but still forget.
Memories define us. But do us define memories?
If we do, perhaps only then do we define ourselves,
do we make us human.
Wow, either im practicing for my Theory of Knowledge next year, or im just lamenting on my poor memory in a chim way -_-
