army daze (2)

its been around 11 weeks since one enlisted into NS. from a chau recruit at tekong to a private at clementi maju camp as a rifleman.

a new environment inevitably brings along its many challenges. especially when one approaches a more advanced stage of his training. physical, mental, spiritual. indeed, as the days go by, one cant help but wonder the rational behind the need to spend 20 more months of his life serving the army fulltime, missing many many many precious moments that can be duly spent with friends, loved ones, and the One who created him.

that former drive that pushes him onwards during his earlier phase is gradually but surely losing its momentum. goal: becoming fitter and stronger to achieve gold in ippt a pass in soc. at least thats what one tells himself to say to himself lately. will that positivity that once brought him through the ardous of hours in the past lose its charge as well? one cant help but wonder.

life goes on, they always say.

may God have mercy on him.
