(read the previous post 1st before this 1)
Well, i've always had a habit of writing very neutrally and discretely in many of my blog posts. However, after reading a certain overseas brother's (the one with filled recessess) recent post, I've decided to write a more personal one regarding my recent Sabah trip so that the forgetful memory of mine can remember again in the future.
Hmm where should I start. Well, the heat in Sabah is REALLY HOT!! haha. especially when theres like 12 people in a single van travelling for hours. My particular van's aircon wasn't the best, so we had to constantly adjust the direction of the wind as we took turns to xiang shou the slightly cold air. The travel rides were quite fun actually, with all the lameness and even the complaining in the brother's van going around which immediately followed with a clear silence as all of us dozed of to lala land almost simultaneously. Loved the potong jalans, mountain swings and the offroad drivings as well!! Kudos to our professional and cool drivers zhen ning and even earnest!! =)

And now coming to that, our tour guides cum drivers: earnest, zhen ning, nicholas, meyers and uncle. Well, come to think of it, they are a really nice bunch of cool and really nice people. Especially Meyers with his stylo and proded photography skills!! However, I do have a certain tinge of regret for not getting to talk to them and know them better during the 1st few days of the trip as it was only in the last few that the ice was finally broken and we were all communicating and sharing our laughters together. Perhaps we were too caught up with our own clicks to even get to know new ones? Or perhaps the trip was just too short for the barriers to be eroded and broken down? No matter the case, im just very glad that all of us have gotten each other's fb and msn and i'm sure friendship will last for a really long time across boundaries!! Hope to see them face to face again in the near future.
Well, we visited many churches in the west part of Sabah, 9 to be exact during our 5 day whirlwind trip around that part of Borneo. And all i can say is that im really glad and delighted to know that there are many other True Jesus Churches around in the world apart from Singapore and mainland Malaysia. In fact i think there are more than 60 churches alone in Sabah, ranging from those in large cities to smaller towns and even those amidst the lush, hardly accessible areas of Borneo. Truly, True Jesus Church has grown and continues to sow the seeds of the Gospel throughout the world, with our commission ever so strongly ringing as the Spirit leads us to new lands and horizons beyond. May the Lord continue to bless and prosper the work of the church of the living truth and lead more lost sheeps back into the fold.
And i really like the people at Tinuhan Church. Sabahan natives with a pure untainted heart of love and hospitality. They welcomed us with songs at their doorsteps, welcomed up again with handshakes, welcomed us once more with an array of sacred music presentation, welcomed us yet again with nice caps, and welcomed us lastly with great food and a nice though short chat together before rushing off to the next church. Truly, im sure all of the visiting people, even those local Sabahan that followed us, would never forget this warmth that radiated from this church hidden 10 minutes away from the main road amidst a forest and atop a hill. Something that is really rare to be experienced elsewhere and truly worthy of our emulation. Thank you Tinuhans!! And that soulful, natural voices of yours as you sang with real emotions... whoa!!
Hmm what else... FOOD. ok they gave us alot of food. seriously. Apart from the 3 main meals that were filled with wondrous and abundant local goodness, there were the 'snacks' that were present whenever we visited any of the churches. And mind you, those were really HEAVY snacks. Don't eat also very paiseh mah, so bo pian lor... must force it down haha! Though the food was really good, except got no space -.- Well, so the whole journey was like travelling and eating and travelling and eating and travelling and eating. I think i grew a belt size!! Waaaaah need to start running marathons liao.
Now that the Sabah trip has ended and here I am sitting before my screen 2 days after our flight has landed back on SG, I do feel a certain sense of lost and not knowing what to do next. Still reminiscing on the good times that had so quickly passed by, still waiting for meyers photos, still dun feel like studying for exams which is 1 1/2 weeks away from now, still feel a little exhausted from the trip and still waiting for evangelistic coming up this weekend...... Still. When will the motivation come to progress forward and away from this 'still'? haizz, may the Lord give me the strength and encouragement to move onwards.
I think i shall conclude this post here. Getting too long and boring Zzzz. Sorry for wasting your time.. though i think its a good idea to come back and read it when u got insomnia and cant sleep at night la haha.
Till then, farewell Sabah, the land of the headhunters!! (who steal our brains and implant vivid, unforgettable memories in them and use psychotherapy to psycho us to return again!!)
