a busy week

Well, a busy week has just passed. Right after WoW, came TJC Spiritual Meeting, followed by Bible Seminar, and finally CSSP Challenge. 14 days of non-stop action and fatigue has really taken its toll on me and I cant help but just stone in front of the screen assembling pieces of my mind back together and burning 30 DVDs of WoW pictures. Sianzz, mid-years are 2 weeks away already, better start mugging really soon. Ok, maybe next week.

Actually, i didnt really need to attend Bible Sem at all, cos after all, I've already graduated like 2 years ago. However, somehow, there is this innate nature in me that somehow always lands me back to want to help out in this seminar where younger youths study and learn the Word of God together and have fellowship with one another. Perhaps its because i still fondly miss those 3 years of good times that I had from Sec 1 - 3 in the seminar with fellow brothers and sisters and the many wonderful experiences that i had, or maybe im just denying the fact that i have mid-yrs coming up and want to slack. Ok, its most probably the first. Nevertheless, my mind is set up on being a counscillor one day. Why? Well, im too lazy to type here... remember im still dam stoned (like tony paul) especially right after CSSP...

Yes i know whats the next question. "Eh abang, apa itu CSSP?" CSSP is an acronym (whoa serious??!!) for Community Safety and Security Programme (i hope im not wrong). Well the CSSP Challenge, basically a 5 day nationwide camp with 250-300 participants this year, aims to educate them on community awareness and involvement, especially with the recent spate of events involving big, black, unattended bags lying around. Well, i was invited to be the camp photographer. Whoa, sounds like im a pro right? Nah not really, its just that im extremely cheap to hire and I only work for CASH (CAS Hours) and also because majority of the exco are ppl whom i know, with the president of the whole programme being my ex-CSM (also another John from St John). Yes the irony; St John is ruled by Johns. Muahahahaha. Ok nvm about that. Ya, so i became photographer for only the last 2 days. Initially, i was rather skeptical, cos I had really no idea what the whole camp thingy was about and due to the fact that there was an event goin on all the way until 4am on the 2nd day according to the schedule. So ya la, at first was dam sianzz. Well, thankfully, I was proven wrong (Yea somehow i always love to be proven wrong) as the camp turned out to be quite fun, with all the ON campers, the cool and proded facilitators, the interesting bunch of Exco ppl, and all the wacky bunk and alliance cheers. It was also truly a worthwhile experience to be a part of the SMRT Derailment Exercise at city hall from 12am onwards on friday 6June as we could actually walk within the underground MRT tunnels (which was like dam cool) and I was also competing with other really professional, media photographers as we pushed and grappled each other while desperately trying to get the best shot of the minister and the whole derailment exercise (woohooo shiok). Furthermore, the exco and faci ppl there from other JCs, polys and even those still NSing were all a very fun and cool bunch to interact with as some of us just sat on the school benches at 3+ am after derailment and just talk and laugh about everything under the stars until morning revelry for campers. Though i had only spend just 2 short and insignificant days with them compared to the months of meetings they had had prior to the camp, well, i guess we still somehow managed to get to know each other better (lame and random jokes always help to break the ice =) Nevertheless, 2 days is so really short; and the fact is that we may not be seeing each other ever again liao, so well, thats the sad thing la. Maybe this is the 起源 of my interest in event photography: to freeze and capture things which would have been lost to the ebbings of time. Ok, originally wanted to give a John Yu Analogy here but i guess im too tired and stoned... forgot it halfway while typing lol.

Overall, I just really want to thank God for giving me this opportunity to be a small part of this nationwide camp as a friendly, neighbourhood photographer.
